    Hi,

     

    I’m looking for an SVG of the world where all elements of a country are grouped together and labelled using the id. I was hoping to create one from https://www.naturalearthdata.com/download/10m/cultural/10m-admin-0-countries.zip but it seems that exporting the data using a program as Quantum GIS looses the metadata.

     

    Are there other programs out there that would retain the metadata on export to an SVG?

    Check out: http://kartograph.org/. It has a tool for converting SHP to SVG with attributes. You don’t have to use the other parts of that software (which are quite good, btw).
